Vegetarian food/ Non Vegetarian food which one is better and why

Whenever someone joins a fitness program he or she would be very conscious about diet first of all because the diet plays a crucial role for good fitness or a healthy lifestyle. Without a proper diet it is quiet an impossible task to operate.

If we particularly say, its protein which we firstly look for because of its nourishing properties.

So from where should we consume it?  This is the question which comes in every other mind. Those who are vegetarian they seek for oats, pulses, paneer, milk etc and those who are non vegetarians they go for meat and sometimes vegetarians also go for meat to fulfill their protein deficiency due to lack of knowledge. So which one is right for you vegetarian food or non vegetarian food, let’s find out.

In the world of nutrition the debate between vegetarians and non vegetarians is the scary one. Which one is the best whether it is vegetarian/non vegetarian or recently being popular vegan. So if you are in a dilemma about which one to choose than read the complete blog to get the answer.

In 19th century there were only 20% of the people in India used to consume non vegetarian food but now the condition are totally opposite, the table have turned. Now there are 71% of the people who consume non vegetarian food whereas only 28% consume vegetarian food and less than of a 1% are vegan because they do not consume the food which is produced by an animal. But still India has the most no. of the people in the world who eat vegetarian food.

Some people say that it is because of the impact of western countries on India but I think the reason should be something else. So let’s find out.

According to Modern Science

The non vegetarian food such as egg, chicken, mutton, fish etc are very important for us since they contain a high percentage of protein which can be highlighted as a main reason for its consumption nowadays.

Yes the animal foods are said to be the complete source of protein since they contain all 9 amino acids present in it.

  • Histidine
  • Isoleucine
  • Leucine
  • Lysine
  • Methionine
  • Phenylalanine
  • Threonine
  • Tryptophan
  • Valine

Along with protein the animal flesh also contain vitamins and minerals like vitamin B12, Niacin and Selenium.

So we can say that this may be the reason behind choosing meat as a protein source.

But there are some consequences which you might face because sometimes modern science contradict itself as there are some researches have shown that non vegetarian food causes life taking diseases.

  • WHO and NSW say that processed meat and red meat can cause cancer
  • Whereas NHS says that red meat can cause the risk of bowl cancer but white meat such as fish is a healthy meat.

But some studies have shown that if it is consumed in any form than it may cause heart diseases and cancer.

Well this fact was further studied and proved right so many times that if protein is consumed from any of the animal product can cause cancer.

Also the global emission of green house gases such as CH4 by the slaughter houses of these animals leads to 25% of the climate change which are 25 times more than CO2 and the condition of these animals there are also very pathetic there.

So all in all we can say that the Modern Science does not stick to its own viewpoint and it keeps on changing.

According to Ayurveda

Ayurveda clearly mentions the consequences of eating both vegetarian as well as non vegetarian food both.

It says that the food we eat is not just the source of nourishment for the body but also for the mental health such as vibration of the mind.

According to Ayurveda there are 3 types of food

  1. Satvik (Mode of goodness)
  2. Rajasik (Mode of passion)
  3. Tamasik (Mode of ignorance)

When an animal gets killed than those negative vibrations of animals get associated with its meat which later gets transmitted in the mind of the person who eats it and can cause changes in the vibrations of his mind which may result in

  • Lethargy
  • Depression
  • Ignorance

Our holy BHAGVAT GITA also states the same thing.

Although there are few books which states the benefits of consuming non vegetarian food but they also gave the condition to eat it and people should stick to it.

  • The meat should be wild
  • It should be fresh
  • And it should be consumed only if there are no other options available. Which means only the tribal people can eat it.

Now few of you might ask that if killing an animal is wrong than it should also be wrong to eat fruits and vegetables because tree also live.

To answer that Ayurveda says that humans are most developed species on earth. So it should consume that food only that food which he can easily get without violence such as fruits and vegetables.

It also says that protein taken from vegetarian food such as daal(pulses) and sprouts get absorb easily into the body.

So many saints have propagated that mother Nature has not made us non vegetarian and to prove that fact they said that the structure of our teeth are similar to that of vegetarian animals similarly the size of intestine, nails and the way we drink water also show that we are not designed to eat non vegetarian food.

Ayurveda states that “Human is the most evolved specie on the earth so it should get the food with least amount of violence” and if we still eat it than we are the only one who bear the consequences.
