In the modern days most of the people out there want to lose weight or we can say that they want to get in good shape and for that they make a lot of efforts such as some of them goes to gym, some goes for yoga whereas the other go for intermittent fasting but even than they fail to get a good physique, Which results in losing of hope, quitting the workout or adopting their older routine.

But the question is Have you ever try to find a solid reason behind that? Why the others are losing weight easily and you are getting failed to do it again and again even with a good amount of workout or a regime? Well when we start focusing on our fitness we often commit some or the other mistakes due to lack of knowledge in this field. Many of us try to do it on their own rather than consulting an instructor or an expert which is not a problem at all if you know the pros and cons of the thing which you are trying to lose weight. But the real problem is we get influenced by the myths about weight loss very easily through various methods such as internet or different-different marketing strategies of the products which they sell by spreading false news.

1. Skip meals to lose weight

 



Well it is a very popular myth that many of us believe that if we skip our meals we will definitely lose weight but this results in more weight gain and we are not aware of the fact that we are committing a big mistake. So if you skip meals it is going to have such a negative impact on your body that you can not imagine.

Actually what happens by skipping meals is that you don’t eat food for a specific amount of time and when you sit down and eat than you are probably going to overeat since you think that you are eating less for the day and this will result in weight gain.

2. All calories create the same impact

 




This is the biggest myths that’s most of the people believe in and that frustrate you the most.

A calorie is not just a calorie it completely depends on the source from where you are getting these calories weather it is coming from caloric dense food or a nutritional dense food.

Caloric dense food such as cookies, pastries and cake contain 100 of calories in it when eaten it is going to digest really fast that it will result a spike in your sugar levels and will create more sugar for the energy and you will gain weight.




On the other hand you can have a banana, a nutritionally dense food. You might have heard that banana makes us fat and that’s definitely not true because the banana is a great source of Potassium along with Fiber and nutrients that are necessary for your body. The only thing you have to take care is that do not over consume it and that's it.

3. Starve yourself to lose weight

 


When you start leaving food when it is most necessary and you decide to starve rather than satisfying your hunger than as a result what happens is that your metabolism starts getting weaker since it is getting less to burn you can never lose weight as you already know how important your metabolism is to maintain a good physique.

And starving your body will not result in losing weight on the other hand it will result in muscle shrink.

The experts believe that we should not consume less than 70% of overall caloric needs and even if you will start to lose weight believe me it is an unhealthy weight loss and you may face the consequences very shortly.

4. Skipping breakfast helps to lose weight

 




Well it completely depends on body to body, person to person and their relationship with food. We can understand it like our body is a machine and the food we are eating is some sort of a fuel. So the breakfast is the most important fuel that helps to run our body for a complete day and if you skip your breakfast the first meal of the day than it can become a big mistake for your body so before doing anything in the day first have your breakfast than start your day.

5. Cut out fat from your meal

 

Fat is incredibly necessary for our body and we should regularly get fat in our diet. But we have been said that we should not consume fat rich food if we are working to lose weight and it is a dangerous myth about weight loss.

So from where we should get these fats? This question may arise in your mind. So for those who don’t know about what fat they should consume, I just want to tell you that there are 2 types of fat

  1. Bad fat
  2. Good fat

And knowing the difference between them can be helpful for you to determine which fat to avoid and which to eat in moderation.

Bad fat is Saturated and Trans fat which is potentially harmful to your health and body.

While good fat contains Monosaturated fat which is generally helpful to avoid obesity and is available in variety of foods and oils such as

  4. Olive oil
  5. Peanut oil
  6. Peanut butter
  7. Almond butter
  8. Avocados

Good fat also contains Polysaturated fats that are also called “essential fats” because these fats are found in the plants and they don't harm your in any possible way. Both Monosaturated and Polysaturated fats can decrease the risk of heart diseases by lowering the cholesterol level of blood.

Omega-3 fatty acids are also useful for lowering the cholesterol level and sources of these fats are

  1. Sardines
  2. Trout
  3. Flax seeds
  4. Canola seeds
  5. Chia seeds
  6. Walnuts
  7. Salmon

 


So these were the few myths about fat loss that we need to debunk as they can cause us many repercussions and we are unaware of these myths and blame ourselves for not achieving our goal. So it is better to research first rather than applying anything you see and follow anything blindly. Don't do those mistakes which the others are doing to stay fit.
